Blog to track where Classic International 14 sailing dinghies are now located in North America. I am also interested in archival material (photos, videos, correspondence) on Classic International 14's. You can view the images posted on this blog using Google > Images by typing these words in the search box: "Classic International 14 cbifda blogspot"
We owned a Schock-Kirby, #683!
ReplyDeleteDonnated it to Harvey Mudd College....
ReplyDeleteI think that Schock has turned up at the end of my street, here on Whidbey Island. Coincidentally, and even quite spooky, it is at the old home (sold 3 months ago) of Baird Bardarson, that legend of 14 faem, who died sadly 2 years ago.....the new owners of their holiday home, have no previous experience of sailing, and were practically donated this boat 'as a family boat to learn to sail on' Needless to say, as soon as I saw it, I was down there like a shot, and disabused them of the notion that they might have re. learning to sail in it....!!I am hoping they will let me buy it from them so I can start to restore it to it's former glory. The plaque says Schock 1960 - it has sail no 1055, if I remember, and is pretty shoddy. Will let you know how it pans out.
